The Social and Environment Society (SES) of The Gambia College and Ambassadors Peer Peace Motivation (APPM) The Gambia College Chapter on Friday,27 th November,2020 embarked on a massive cleaning exercise at the Gambia college campus in Brikama.
Addressing the gathering, the principal of The Gambia College, Mr Abubaccarr Jallow applauded the participants for the good initiative and urged them to take it as a part of their responsibility as good citizen of the country. He said the college campus belong to all who come to the college. Thus it is the responsibility of everyone to ensure that the campus is clean. “Community service is key in nation building,” Jallow said.
The president of the Social and Environment Society (SES) of The Gambia College Mr Yusupha Sambou said there cannot be any effective learning without clean and healthy environment. He said the SES club is the mother club of all clubs in the college. And he urged other clubs to follow the footsteps of the SES club
Sambou thanked the students for the turnout. He emphasized the need to keep the environment clean at all time, while recognizing the role played by APPM.
Other speakers at the event included Mankamang Daffeh , the chairperson of APPM Gambia college chapter, Abdoulie Ndow and Fatou joof a final year diploma primary student. All expressed similar sentiments.
