The Information Technology of the Gambia (ITAG) on Thursday 11th November held a long day event with stakeholders in start ups and delivery companies with the main objective of giving start-ups and delivery companies the opportunity and platform to discuss E-commerce and logistic sectors and discuss challenges encountered during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Ms. Biran Dodeh President ITAG remarked that the organisation was solely formed by professionals within the ICT ecosystem of the Gambia and in diaspora whose sole aim was to collaborate, explore and develop the ICT community in the Gambia.
She highlighted that since inception the organisation has not only been committed to promoting ICT industry in the Gambia but has continuously been pro active in the developments of ICT and helping government in policy making and as well as identifying 30 companies both at home and abroad on how to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic.
In panel discussions, start up and delivery companies highlighted the use of geo-location to locate customers as a big challenge they faced most especially during the pandemic.
Mr. Alieu Badara Sowe the country coordinator of GIVE 1 The Gambia introduces participants and delivery companies to the use of Google plus to trace out places.
Mr. Badara has so far conducted several trainings for E-commerce and local delivery services companies
