As the fuel saga involving senior officials of Gampetroleum and other fuel suppliers in the country continues, Trumpet Newspaper is reliably informed by an eye witness who was present when former president Yahya Jammeh demanded GP to fund his party’s 2016 presidential election campaign.
According to the witness, the said demand was met with swift action without any delays and the said amount was delivered to Jammeh in cash via General Sulayman (Saul) Badjie.
The witness who was concerned after reading our stories about fuel theft involving GP officials, Customs and Excise and a retired Israeli military officer, called on our attention to give us another corrupt practice at the country’s fuel depot.
According to the witness, it was Saihou Drammeh, the then Director of Operation at GP in the presence of an American technical expert, who gave DM3.500,000 to support Yahya Jammeh’s 2016 political campaign.
The witness said, “I was standing right there together with our American technical expert Mr. Michael (Mike) when Saihou Drammeh handed D3.5 million to General Saul Badjie to support APRC’s 2016 campaign”.
Saihou Drammeh is now the General Manager of Gampetroleum and Lamin Gassama the Director of Operation are currently under Police custody pending investigations into the fuel saga.
