Gambian-German Medical Foundation Supports Health Ministry

Chosan Charitable Medical Foundation, a Gambian- German medicinal project group and Frickenhausen Integration working group on Wednesday 30th December 2020, cooperatively donated a 40ft container stuffed with 197 packages of medical equipment to the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.

The donated equipment  included; X-ray machines, film lamps, microscope, examine table, warm baby beds, chairs, weighing scales, maternity beds, dental equipment, beds, among others items.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Ministry, Deputy Permanent Secretary Technical, Mr. Karamba Keita, remarked that the Ministry is open to all donors thus applauding the donors for their care in the healthcare of the Gambian people. He said whoever cares for your health, cares everything about you.

Mr. Keita assured the donors of a proper utilisation of the items as they will be equally shared among the health facilities in the country. He added that Bansang Hospital will be the key beneficiary of the equipment.

Speaking on behalf of the donors, Mr. Haruna S. Jallow, described the project as a dream come true, and stated that over D2 Million was financed in getting the items. Mr. Jallow indicated that second shipment of medical equipment have been halted due to Covid-19.
