Kembujeh Ward Councillor Donates Sanitary Items to Brikama Health Centre

As part of his cooperate responsibilities amid the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic on Tuesday 31st March, the ward Councillor of Brikama Kembujeh, Mr. Alieu K Darboe presented sanitary items worth about D20, 000 to the Brikama District Major Health Centre through the intervention of Gambia Ports Authority (GPA).
In his statement, Honourable Darboe stated that it is a required collaborated effort in this trying moment in the crusade against Covid-19 and to complement the efforts of the Ministry of Health by donating items. The items includes Bars of soap, buckets, sweeping brushes, bags of detergent amongst other things to protect the public against the spread of the Coronavirus especially at health facilities.
Mr. Darboe indicated that grass root development is very paramount and this benevolent gesture was supported by that believe and stand for his community since 2008.
“The country needs a proper health care management without it we cannot work effectively”, he said.
Lamin Sanyang the officer in charge of the health facility said they were touched by the donations as recently all efforts are directed to mobilising funds and resources in the fight against Covid-19. He thanked the donor for the gesture and call for more collaborative intervention from the councillor and his team.
“I assure all of you that these donated items will be put into good use and will serve the purpose for which they are being given” he concluded.
In a separate engagement, Councillor Darboe had presented 5 bags of cement for the construction of the village health post including some sanitary items given to Missera Dutokoto Youths. All these were meant for the fight against the Coronavirus locally.
Other speakers includes, Dr. Tunkara of Brikama Health Centre, Ousman Bah Councillor of Jiboro ward and other dignitaries.
