BREAKING NEWS: Lang Karbou’s Alleged Assailant Slap with 3 Counts

Confirmed information reaching Trumpet Newspaper has it that Mr. Demba (Alagi) Njie, a staffer of the Ministry of Interior who is alleged to have assaulted narcotic officer Sergeant Lamin Karbou known as Lang Kah, has been charged by the authorities with three separate counts.
He is likely to appear before a Court on Wednesday 11 March 2020.
According to sources, Mr. Njie, a gardener at MOI has been charged with ‘assault causing actual bodily harm, possession of prohibited drugs (cannabis) and obstruction’. He is charged by officers of Brusubi Police station and will likely to appear in Court on Wednesday to answer to the three counts charges.
Mr. Ousman Saidybah, the Spokesperson of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEAG), the Gambia, confirmed to the Trumpet that Mr. Njie has been charged by Police Prosecutors on the charge of ‘Assault causing actual bodily harm’ and NDEA Prosecutors for ‘obstruction and possession of prohibited drugs’ contrary to section 35 of the Drug control act 2003.
It could be recalled that Mr. Lamin karbou, a Child Welfare Narcotic officer attached to Brusubi Police Station sustained serious injuries on the forehead on Sunday 23 February 2020. He was said to have been on a drug raiding mission when he was allegedly assaulted by Mr. Demba Njie.
Both the accused person Mr. Demba Njie and the victim Lang Kah works for the same Ministry of Interior.
