Reliable and confirmed information reaching Trumpet Newspaper from North Bank Regional booming town of Farafenni, has it that one Alagie Bello of Wharf Town, is currently under the custody of the officers of Drug Law Enforcement Agency (DLEAG) and the Gambia Police Force after cannabis, a suspected human skull and two bones suspected to be human remains were seize from his home.
The incident came to light after the sister forces raided the residence of the suspect and seized 3 bags of charcoal concealed with 5 big bundles of cannabis and a suspected human skull and bones.
The arrest also includes one Salieu Gaye, a 75 year old donkey cart man.
The old man was said to have transported the stuff to the house of the suspect upon delivery to him by a commercial vehicle driver for onward transmission to the final destination.
As the case have two dimensions, both the Police and anti-narcotic officers were involved. The suspected Cannabis case is being handled by Drug Squad, whiles the Police take over the suspected human skull and bones case for forensic expert to determine if they are of human remains.
The Spokesperson of NDLEAG Ousman Saidybah confirmed the incident and said the suspect is a 37 year old Gambian mason arrested on 29th May 2020. He added that the suspect is currently helping their officers in the investigation.
The Police Public relations officer ASP Lamin Njie was contacted but could not confirmed the matter before going to press. He said he is currently working on the matter.
