PRESS RELEASE: Invitation for Price Quotations (IFPQ) through Request for Quotations for the Supply and Delivery of Rice

 The Government of the Gambia intends to purchase and distribute rice to vulnerable farmers in order to ease the hardship caused by the COVID-19 global pandemic:

50kg 100% Broken Rice

 
 

 The Government of The Gambia, through the Ministry of Trade, Industry Regional and Integration and Employment in collaboration with Ministry of Finance and  Ministry Agriculture to procure rice  for COVID 19 food support to vulnerable  Gambian citizens.

The Ministry now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders to participate as a bidder in the tender the procurement of (50kg) 100% broken rice in lots 3,000.

 

 
         

 

The provisions in the standard instruction to bidders and the general condition of contract in the bid document comply with Gambia Public Procurement standard bidding document for the procurement of goods.

 Eligibility criteria 

The bidder shall have experience as a prime vendor in the supply of goods and service  in this Request for price Quotation and must have the ability to deliver within one week, upon award of the contract, failure to deliver 100% within the stipulated period your award will be cancelled or nullified.

In the same vein the Government of the Gambia is targeting SME’s and vendors, more especially women vendor and local producers are encouraged to participate. The SMEs and vendors are therefore further encouraged to source from major importers of rice.

Your quotation must be typed or written in indelible ink and shall be signed by you or your authorized representative, with your current business registration & 2020 GPPA.

The bidder shall be responsible for all the logistics including the transportation of goods to the identified storage within greater Banjul areas.  

Any supplied rice shall be 100% broken, clean and fit for human consumption, failure of which it will be rejected and the onus to accept or reject any price quotation is the sole responsibility of the committee.
